Continuing Education Information

CE hours are available for psychologists, marriage & family therapists, social workers, nurses, and other mental health professionals. Our courses meet requirements in most states.

The Home Study Course offers the following credits:

LMFT, LCSW, NBCC, Nursing : 6 CE hours

The center is not approved by the APA to offer homestudy programs for psychologists. This applies only to homestudy courses.

This course can be started at any time.

How to Register

Course Completion and Documentation

To complete the course, attendees must be present for the entire time, sign in and the beginning and out at the end, and fill out a written evaluation of the course.

Transcripts of attendance will be distributed at the end of each course to those who have enrolled for credit and fulfilled the requirements listed above. Participants are encouraged to retain the transcripts for four years. Replacement transcripts can be made if one is lost. The replacement transcript fee is $10.

Non-Credit Courses

Those not needing verification of attendance, such as teachers, writers, clergy, and artists - are welcome as non-credit attendees. Spouses, friends, students, and others not needing verification of attendance can also choose the lower non-credit tuition.

Tuition

    For participants seeking CE credit:

    Early-bird registration for each one-day course is $140 (if payment is received three weeks prior to the seminar).

    Regular tuition is $155.

    For Non-credit (auditing) participants:

    Early-bird registration for each one-day course is $95 (if payment is received three weeks prior to the seminar).

    Regular tuition is $110

    Some partial work-study scholarships are available for full-day courses.

    Home Study Courses

    The Center currently offers one home-study course, The Wisdom of Mythic Stories. The course may be taken for CE credit or non-credit.

    Home Study courses for CE credit: $95.

    Home Study courses, non-credit: $45.

    Cancellation/Refund Policy

    Full refund is given if the Center cancels a course. A 25% handling charge is imposed on cancellations received up to 24 hours before course. No refunds after that time.

Provider Certifications

Psychology

The Center for Story and Symbol is approved by the American Psychology Association to sponsor continuing education hours for psychologists. The Center maintains responsibility for these programs and their contents. CE hours are accepted by the California MCEP program.

Full attendance is required for psychologists - No partial credit. The level is introductory for psychologists.

LPC, NBCC

The Center for Story and Symbol is an NBCC-Approved Continuing Education Provider (ACEPTM) and may offer NBCC-approved clock hours for events that meet NBCC requirements. The ACEP solely is responsible for all aspects of the program. National Board for Certified Counselors Provider Number 6118.

Our credits are widely accepted by state boards. The level is introductory.

Provider approved by the Calif. Board of Registered Nursing, BRN Provider Number CEP 12477

The level is introductory.

Teachers

Most teachers must get credits approved by their school administration. Center courses meet the requirements in most states. Contact us if you need more information about receiving credit in your state.

Continuing Education courses are customarily approved by immediate supervisors. It is usually sufficient to attend on a non-credit (auditing) basis and present a receipt for the course.

The level is introductory.
