CE hours are available for psychologists, marriage & family therapists, social workers, nurses, and other mental health professionals. Our courses meet requirements in most states. Teachers, writers, clergy, artists, and others interested in our topics are welcome.

Psychology
The Center for Story and Symbol seminars meet the criteria of the American
Psychological Association for continuing education hours for psychologists.
The Center maintains responsibility for the programs. CE hours are
accepted by the California MCEP program.
Full attendance is required for psychologists - No partial credit.
The level is introductory for psychologists.

Teachers
Continuing Education courses are customarily approved by immediate supervisors. It is usually sufficient to attend on a non-credit (auditing) basis and present a receipt for the course.

Experiential Workshop Writing in Therapy
Led by Anne Bach, MFT - after selected seminars, these additional small group
sessions feature writing activities and discussion of creative expression
for personal exploration. Evenings 6 - 9 p.m.
Day Course Information
Doors open at 9:30 a.m. - Seminar 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Lunch break 12:30 - 1:30 p.m.
All courses are approved for the following credits:
Psychology, MFT, LCSW, NBCC 6 CE hours - Nursing 7 hours
The level is introductory
The evening Writing in Therapy workshops are 3 CE credit hours.
Course Completion and Documentation
To complete the course, attendees must be present for the entire time, sign in and the beginning and out at the end, and fill out a written evaluation of the course.
Transcripts of attendance will be distributed at the end of each course to those who have enrolled for credit and fulfilled the requirements listed above. Participants are encouraged to retain the transcripts for four years. Replacement transcripts can be made if one is lost. The replacement transcript fee is $10.

Tuition for all one-day seminars offered
For participants seeking CE credit:
Early-bird registration for each one-day course is $140
(if payment is received three weeks prior to the seminar).
Regular tuition is $155.
For Non-credit (auditing) participants:
Early-bird registration for each one-day course is $95
(if payment is received three weeks prior to the seminar).
Regular tuition is $110
Some partial work-study scholarships are available for full-day courses.

Cancellation/Refund Policy
Full refunds are given if the Center cancels a course. There is a $10 charge for changing to a different date or location within one year. There is a 25% handling charge if you cancel up to 24 hours before the course. No refunds for cancellations received after that time.
Academic Credit
The Center cooperates with colleges and graduate schools for students who wish to use this course for Independent Study credit or as part of off-campus degree programs.
